Dulce de Leche Smoothie |
Taste is rich and divine, but good for you and light on calories and fat!
I’d just made some dulce de leche and was looking for a different way to use it. Also had a tub of low-fat vanilla yogurt I figured I’d better use before it spoiled or got pushed to the back of the fridge–or BOTH.
So I came up with this. WONDERFUL!!! It was SO good, I drank the both of these after I finished photographing it, even though I promised myself I’d “save one for later.” YEAH RIGHT!!!
I did try the last one with a little coconut coffee creamer added to see how it tasted. Very good, but I’m a coconut head anyway. Your mileage may vary and it’s plenty good without the addition of anything coconut flavored. If you’d like to try that, I used about 1 tbs or so of the coconut flavored creamer, but about 1/8 tsp of coconut extract would probably be just about right.
Dulce de Leche Smoothie
- 1 cup low-fat yogurt, plain or vanilla
- 2 tbs dulce de leche
- 1 1/2 cups milk (any variety will do, I used whole)
Combine all ingredients in a very deep cup. I used the plastic cup that comes with my immersion blender. I suggest you do as well. It could get messy otherwise.
Process with immersion blender until dulce de leche is combined well, maybe about 1 minute.
Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
Makes 2 servings.
