Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
What could be better than a moist scrumptious banana bread?  One with chocolate chips! No mixer required!

There are no nuts in this, although you could add them if you wish.  I used mini chocolate chips since mini chips disperse better in cake/bread batters.  If you want to add nuts, about 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts would be about right and fold them in with the chocolate chips.
This simple bread doesn’t even require a mixer–you can do it in one bowl with a spoon.

Make sure to leave several slices for Santa!

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray a 8 x 4-inch loaf pan with non-stick spray.

In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas and melted butter.  Add the beaten egg, sugar and vanilla; combine well.  Sprinkle the baking soda and salt on top and stir well.  Stir in the flour, mixing well, but being careful not to overmix.  Fold in chocolate chips.

Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

Awesome! I preferred to use 1/3 cup of dark choc chips and also added 1/2 walnuts, as suggested. Thanks for this easy peasy and delicious recipe!
