Pretzel Brownies with Caramel Sauce
Pretzel Brownies with Caramel Sauce

So easy yet so rich.  The salt in the pretzels kicks up the taste of the chocolate.

I was looking at Pinterest a few weeks ago and this caught my eye.

All the pin did was show, in pictures, what was done.  I thought that was a really NEAT idea and sort of works in this chocolate/caramel/salt craze that we’re in now.

This is so SO easy and worthy to serve to company.  You’ll get many compliments!  Feel free to substitute your own homemade brownies for the mix if you wish.  This is a no-fail recipe!

Pretzel Brownies with Caramel Sauce

  • 1 pkg (18-19 oz) brownie mix + ingredients to make
  • 2-3 cups mini salted pretzels
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • coarse sea salt (optional)

Preheat oven as per brownie package directions.

Spray or grease a 9 x 9-inch baking dish.

Prepare brownie mix per package directions.  Pour and spread HALF the batter into the prepared pan.

Add a layer of pretzels so almost the entire surface is covered with pretzels.  Pour and spread remaining half of the brownie batter over the pretzels.

Bake as per package directions.  Remove from oven and cool on a rack.

Microwave the caramel sauce about 20 seconds so it’s pourable.  Pour over brownies in pan.  Cut into 9 bars & sprinkle with the coarse salt if desired.

Makes 9 servings.

You are going to get me into trouble with this one. That looks SO good! I'm not sure if I could stop myself at just one. It goes without saying that I'm pinning this one 🙂
