Sweet Chili Meatballs
Meatballs great for an appetizer or a meal.
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef see notes
- 12 oz sweet chili sauce divided
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
- 1 clove garlic finely minced
- 3 green onions finely chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp ground ginger see notes
Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Line a large baking sheet with foil then spray with non-stick spray.
Mix 1/3 cup of the chili sauce with all other ingredients in a large bowl. Reserve the remaining chili sauce for later.
Shape meat into 1 in/2.5 cm balls and place on prepared sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until meatballs are cooked all the way through.
Remove cooked meatballs to a large bowl and coat with the remaining chili sauce.
Ground turkey may be substituted for the ground beef (nutritional information is calculated for ground beef)
Fresh ginger may be substituted. Use 1 tsp finely minced fresh.
May be prepared in an air fryer. Cook in a single layer (you will have to cook in batches) at 350F/180C for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket midway through the cooking time.
