A great recipe for veggies
- 16 oz frozen peas cooked per package directions
- 2 slices crisp bacon diced
- 1 1/2 cups hot whole milk
- 3 tbs butter
- 3 tbs flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper white preferred
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
Drain peas and set aside.
Melt the butter over medium-high heat; add onion and cook until it just becomes translucent. Stir in the flour and let it bubble. Cook for 2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in the hot milk and whisk until it begins to bubble. Reduce the heat and add the salt & pepper.
Stir in the cooked peas and top with the diced bacon.
