  • 16 oz frozen peas cooked per package directions
  • 2 slices crisp bacon diced


  • 1 1/2 cups hot whole milk
  • 3 tbs butter
  • 3 tbs flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper white preferred
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion


  • Drain peas and set aside.
  • Melt the butter over medium-high heat; add onion and cook until it just becomes translucent. Stir in the flour and let it bubble. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in the hot milk and whisk until it begins to bubble. Reduce the heat and add the salt & pepper.
  • Stir in the cooked peas and top with the diced bacon.
