<p>This, surprisingly enough, tastes pretty authentic! &nbsp;Unlike the real thing, this doesn&#8217;t have any noodles involved at all. &nbsp;The gravy is tasty and gets a little help from the condensed soup and some sour cream.</p>
<p>You can make your own herbed biscuits (recipe is there). You can use baking mix, like Bisquick and just add the spices to their recipe printed on the box. &nbsp;Heck, even use some &#8220;wampum&#8221; biscuits if you have them. &nbsp;However, they won&#8217;t taste nice and &#8220;herby&#8221; but you can top with some poppy seed if you want.</p>

<i>Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. &nbsp;Spray or lightly grease a 3-quart casserole dish.</i></div>

<i>Brown ground beef, onion and mushrooms in a large deep skillet. &nbsp;Drain off any fat. Reduce heat.</i></div>

<i>Add the salt, pepper and the 2 cans of soup. &nbsp;Simmer for 10 minutes. &nbsp;Meanwhile, prepare biscuits by mixing all the dry ingredients, cutting in the shortening till it resembles small peas, then stirring in the milk.</i></div>

<i>Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream. &nbsp;Turn into prepared casserole dish. Top with biscuits.</i></div>

<i>Mix the melted butter and bread crumbs. &nbsp;Distribute over tops of biscuits. &nbsp;If you are using poppy seed (optional), sprinkle over top of casserole.</i></div>

<i>Bake at 425 degrees F for 15-25 minutes or until biscuit topping is golden brown and biscuits are cooked through.</i></div>
