I look on an air fryer as a powerful convection oven–not a fryer. Like french fries will taste like you did them in the oven if you make them in the air fryer. One place where it does an excellent job is with “fried” chicken. I find that the chicken coating is much crispier than if it’s conventionally deep fried. I also think that chicken has a better texture and flavor made in the af as opposed to other cooking methods. And IMO, there’s no other way to make a “roast” chicken. It’s wonderful…and fast!

This was one of those happy errors for me! I think they use it in the seasoned flour coatings too–I have some Kentucky Kernel and that’s very light too. A box of cake flour is way cheaper too!!! Really glad you liked it so much.

Hi, I just tried your cake flour wings tonite, we just finished eating. And they were absolutely wonderful, crispy and delish!!!! My husband loved them. The cake flour coating is so light and it did crisp them up very nicely. Thant you so very much for this wonderful tip. I will not use anything but cake flour for any of my chicken now. I do plan to try it on pork chops and maybe even a light coating for fish. Love this stuff and will spread the word. Lots of hugs. Claudia

I don’t have one with a rack, so I do them, single layer, and in batches so I don’t crowd them. Works just fine in the basket.

Do you put these on the rack that can be used or directly in the basket without the rack?
