When you say drain the chicken, do you also rinse it or do you just drain and leave what buttermilk that clings to the chicken pieces?

Hi Helen--I would try oiling the basket of the fryer but brush it with regular oil and don't use Pam. I didn't have to do this with this chicken, but a good method for getting breading to stick to whatever you're cooking is to make sure that the flour is almost like paste--which should happen here because of the buttermilk soak, but if you refrigerate the breaded pieces for about an hour, the breading will adhere. This is messy, I won't lie, but it does work. Only other thing I can think of is you may have crowded the basket. Many people swear by the parchment rounds they sell to line the fryer basket. I bought them off Amazon but to be honest, I find them more trouble than they're worth, but your mileage may vary.

Not sure what I did wrong ... just got our Air Fryer ... my chicken was skin free but followed the recipe completely. Most if not all breading stuck to fryer or fell off. Could you help me as to what I might have done wrong?
